My wife and I have been into the nudist lifestyle for several years now and just love traveling the country checking out nudist spots. Each state is different in what they offer the local nudist which leads to the question of “What is available for North Carolina nude beaches and resorts?”
In general, there are a few options available for North Carolina nudists. While there are no official North Carolina nude beaches, there are a few North Carolina nudist resorts that give you a legal option to sunbathe in the nude. North Carolina nudist groups will provide additional options.
So let’s take a look at what this state has to offer the North Carolina nudist. We will look at North Carolina nude beach options, North Carolina nudist resort options, and North Carolina nudist group options. We will also look at some travel options and some wilder North Carolina alternative lifestyle options.
North Carolina Nude Beaches
Unfortunately, there are no official public North Carolina Nude Beaches. According to findlaw.com exposing your “private parts” is illegal in North Carolina and can involve up to 60 days in jail and up to a $1000 fine (punishments are more severe if involving a minor).
However, according to a recent article, it is not illegal to go topless in North Carolina so that definitely gives some options. So while going topless may leave you feeling out of place, it is not illegal.
There are a number of spots listed as North Carolina Nudist Beaches but remember that these are not official nude beaches and you can get in trouble with the law. If I was a North Carolina nudist, I would much rather go to one of the North Carolina nude resorts listed below and avoid any legal issues.
If you are looking for some great nude beaches that are legal. I suggest checking out Top Nude Beaches in Florida. I know that involves a lot of travel but at least you don’t have to worry about getting arrested.
The table below contains a short list of some spots that are listed as having unofficial nude areas. Most of them are secluded areas and you are basically counting on not getting caught. Once again, I highly recommend traveling to a real public nude beach or a North Carolina nudist resort.

We just love places like North Carolina nudist resorts. These spots just give you a great place to relax in the nude without having the worries of getting in trouble. You can hang out poolside or in the hot tub. You can stay over and make a weekend trip for yourself or your family.
If you are looking for a good place to try out the nudist lifestyle, then we highly recommend a day trip to a nudist resort to check it out. You will find the people to be great and the pressure is low. You will find it easy to relax and enjoy yourself.
North Carolina has a couple of good nudist spots to check out. If you are looking for some additional options you can always check out additional nudist resorts in South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Whispering Pines is a great North Carolina nudist resort that is located southwest of Wilmington within 11 miles of the ocean and just north of the South Carolina border. This is a family-friendly nudist resort located on 35 acres that is associated with the AANR.
This resort receives very high ratings from North Carolina nudists. People give it high marks for cleanliness and friendliness of people there. The major negative given is that the facilities are dated but clean.
Amenities at Whispering pines include potluck dinners, a heated pool, hot tub, sand & water volleyball, horseshoes, bingo, walking trails, clubhouse, campfire gatherings, shuffleboard, club dances, and spacious shaded picnic areas.
The daily ground fees are $50 for couples, $25 for single ladies, and $50 for single men. There are discounts for AANR members and students.
Overnight accommodations do not include daily ground fees. The overnight rates are $20 for tenting, $30 for basic RV spots, and overnight RV rentals are available for $100 per night.

Bar-S-Ranch is an adult-only North Carolina nudist resort that is located in the Greensboro area. This resort is located on over 300 acres that include a seven-acre lake. This resort is open to couples and singles over 21 but single males should call ahead before going as they try to maintain a balance of the sexes.
This North Carolina nudist resort is for nudists and not clothing-optional so visitors are expected to participate in the nudist lifestyle.
The reviews for this club are very positive with most concentrating on the friendliness of the people and the cleanliness of the facilities.
Amenities at the Bar-S-Ranch include the pool, fishing at the lake, miles of walking trails, tenting sites, RV sites, and a clubhouse.
Day fees at the Bar-S-Ranch are $65 for couples or singles. The day fees get you in from 10 am to 7 pm.
Overnight stays are available at $25 for a tent site and $35 for a basic RV site with electricity and water. You will need to pay the day fees in addition to the overnight fee.

Lucky Lovers is a 21+ clothing-optional resort that we classify as a swinger resort. This place definitely has a sexual vibe and we would not classify it as a North Carolina nudist resort.

North Carolina Nudist Groups
If you are looking for a North Carolina nudist beach or a North Carolina nude resort, a great way to find out about all the local nudist spots is to get in touch with some of the North Carolina nudist groups.
These groups will put on local events to help nudists get in touch with each other and share info on where you can go and spend some nudist time together.
Triangle Area Naturists, LLC
Triangle Area Naturists (TAN) is a North Carolina nudist group that promotes clothing-optional recreation and social nudism in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill “Triangle” in central North Carolina.
TAN promotes house parties and clothing optional sunbathing experiences in their area of Noth Carolina. These events can be great fun and an excellent way to meet other North Carolina nudists.

The Other Type of Nudists: Swingers Resorts in North Carolina
When someone is looking for North Carolina nudist resorts, it is important to take into account what you are looking for. A traditional naturist nudist resort is a completely different experience from a swinger clothing-optional resort. Going to the wrong type may lead to some unexpected surprises for you.

In a nutshell, naturists nudists look at nudity as a natural state of being that is not tied to sex. Therefore these places can be family-orientated and sexual activity is not encouraged or allowed. Swingers look at nudity as being totally about sexuality. Sexual activity is allowed and encouraged.
